When your toddler has a meltdown, it seems perfectly reasonable to try to talk to them to help comfort them. But have you every noticed that the more you talk, the worse the meltdown gets? This is very normal, and it's because of how your child's brain works. The key to helping your child during a tantrum or a meltdown isn't to talk to them.
